Hey folks,

I've been working on a game recently using the new XNA technology from MS. I was wondering if I could get people's opinions on it. It's a 2D platform game with lots of variation in the levels, some have a time travel aspect, some have a slightly different control mechanism, some have resizing of the player character and so on.

The levels are currently chosen at random but the final game will have some kind of menu screen that allows you to choose between different levels.

The background graphics aren't brilliant at the moment but I hope to address that at some point. If there are any artists out there looking for work and might be interested then please give me a shout.

I've made a beta version which you can get from my website:

It's just a .zip file at the moment and you need the following to run it:

.NET framework (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en)
DirectX 9 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en)
XNA framework (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2e136a1f-f187-478c-9da5-aaeb0904782b&DisplayLang=en)

You needs at least XP SP2 or Vista to be able to run XNA games. Other than that if you've got a decent graphics card it should run fine.

The keys are:

A/D - left and right
Space - jump
Return - action (changes depending on the level)
Tab - skip level if you get bored ( won't be in the final version :) )

Here are some screenies:

No offense. However why player must have recent system, when they play such an old school looking game?

He's using XNA. XNA has pretty high requirements (including shader model 2). So, even Pong written in XNA would require a recent system.
