View Full Version : The hardest game in the world.

A game which purports to be the hardest game of its genre ever created.

Not a game which somehow slipped through the net a lot harder than it was expected to be; a game whose USP is precisely the fact that it's infuriatingly, indisputably, split open an artery with a fingernailingly the toughest game of its kind.

Of course the casual market would immediately look elsewhere, the majority of those left would see a game over within moments and never play the game again, but wouldn't there be a reasonably sized hardcore market who would gladly pay for a fill copy just because they will NOT be beaten?

Might make an interesting project.

If mods count, it might be worth checking out this video:

I thought the learning curve was fairly gentle... or am I missing something here?

Harder.

The key point is that it actually sets out to be harder than anything before, an affront to the hardcore gamer.

Simply the hardest game which could possibly made which is still accomplishable with human intelligence and dexterity.

Might be fun to make.

There was a quizz game on Newsgorund that claimed to be the hardest game in the world on purpose.
Don't remember the URL, but some of you probably played it , it was very popular a couple of months ago.

I expect the very old adventure game that offered an actual huge cash prize to the first person who could solve the thing ranked pretty high up there as the hardest game...

Some people are insane and will play very hard games over and over. But take it too far and you will literally see no sales. I suggest you don't have a playable demo.

You're probably right about that.

In any case, I've got a backlog of projects on the go as it is, this is just a silly idea to throw into the pot. :)

Even the easiest skill level in this open source game is insanely difficult.

My favorite line in the game FAQ:

Q: I keep getting killed. Why is is so difficult?
A: Quitcher whinin', you ninny! It's supposed to be hard! Seriously, Chromium B.S.U. is intended to be a 15 minute adrenaline rush/mental cleanser. Frequent doses of explosions (even your own) can be very therapeutic.

If you're talking about Explora (a French time travelling adventure game on the Amiga, developed near where I live actually), it did offer such a prize, and it was pretty insane. :)

Best regards,

I'm inclined to think she was talking about Eureka.
