eGames, Sandlot Games Partner to Bring Burger Island to Hungry Game Portals
2007-04-09 09:40:26 - LANGHORNE, Pa., April 9, 2007 – Casual games developer and publisher eGames, Inc. (Other OTC: EGAM.PK), today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Sandlot Games® Corporation, a pioneer in the casual game industry and developer of the 2006 smash hit Cake Mania™, to distribute eGames’ upcoming fast food-themed Burger Island™ to online game portals across the Internet. With over 35 million downloads of Cake Mania to date, Sandlot Games president and CEO Daniel Bernstein, believes Burger Island has the necessary components to be an award-winning title.
“Sandlot Games only distributes games with strong characters and high production values. With addictive game play, a good storyline and a fiery main character at the grill, we immediately recognized the huge potential of Burger Island,” said Bernstein. “Patty Melton will certainly resonate with consumers worldwide as she attempts to extend the Beach Burger franchise. Get ready to start flipping!”
“Sandlot Games’ track record for gaining and maintaining digital distribution is indisputable,” said eGames VP of Sales and Marketing Rich Siporin. “Their proven success with Cake Mania, their standing as one of the industry’s very best game developers and marketers, and their enthusiasm and confidence in Burger Island makes them an ideal partner for delivering our game to as broad and receptive an audience as possible.”
Burger Island follows the frantic culinary adventures of Patty Melton as she assumes control of a tropical island-based Beach Burger restaurant, grilling burgers, cooking fries, and blending special milkshakes for hungry customers with the help of a quick-tempered waiter, Pierre, and the mysterious recipe-selling Tiki Guy. Spanning over 50 mouth-watering levels, Patty’s quest to extend the Beach Burger franchise all the way to the capital city of Honochuchu features dozens of fun recipes.
Joining Boss Hunter™: Revenge is Sweet! and Defender of the Crown: Heroes Live Forever®, Burger Island represents the third installment of eGames’ recently-initiated internal development efforts. Additional new titles are currently underway.
Burger Island was developed entirely using Macromedia Flash®. Free trials of Burger Island will be available in the coming weeks at the newly relaunched www.egames.com, www.sandlotgames.com, and other leading online game portals.
