I've uploaded to pjio.com a playable version of Heroes.

Heroes (http://www.pjio.com/game/Heroes)

This is a demo of a PC game which is similar to Puzzle Quest.

Thanks

Doesn't work in IE 6, same as the above poster.

I have tried on Firefox 2.0.0.3 and IE 7.0, and it did not work in both cases.

I had some difficulties getting it to run in IE6 (after I noted that it wouldn't work in Opera 9), but I got it running at last. The trick for me seemed to be to not switch windows - when I do that the IE window freezes at the state mentioned above.

I must admit that the game was a bit less polished and fleshed out than I thought it would be...but I still couldn't help playing just another round, so it's definitely addictive. That is, until heroes.dll crashed on me after I'd played half a dozen rounds.

Thanks for the response.

Yes, we are trying to finish the polish on the game. Please let me know what you think needs improvement. As for most of the graphics, I did have to reduce quality, mainly due to the size limit imposed by pjio.

Also where did the crash happen.

Thanks

An Update has been uploaded which will hopefully fix any loading problems people get.

Yep, it works now.

I have tried the game, and here is my feedback:
- You should add a tutorial. Without a tutorial, some players like me might think that the game is just a standard match-3 game although, by looking at the UI, the game seems to be more than a simple match-3.
- The graphics are ok, except the gems which have some artifacts at their borders (probably because they are not correctly blended with the background).

A tutorial is in progress.

As for the gems, yes, there is some anti-aliasing artifacts that we are in the process of cleaning up.

Also some of the graphical artifacts came from down-rez'ing the graphics to fit in to the memory limitations of 20megs. The orginal graphics are all 32bit, where as the demo is all 256 colors.
