Sunburst Effect in (PaintShop Pro or Photoshop)

I'm trying to create a sunburst effect in either PaintShop Pro or Photoshop. I am attaching an sample image to demonstrate what I am talking about. Is their a filter or technique that should be used to create an effect like this.

Instead of creating one segment you can also create two (pointing at each other) and then use Edit->Clone->Create Tiled Clones... Symmetry->Symmetry: Simple Translation, Shift->Shift Y:-100%, Rotation->Per Row: whatever you like, Row, Columns: some value x 1.

You can for example make the center fatter by using a same stroke color as you use for the fill... and then set the stroke width to something higher.

Pretty easy stuff :)

There's a number of different ways to approach this... Here's how I would do it in paint shop...

I'd open up the color palette and choose a gradient. Then I'd use the 2nd circular gradient. Then I'd edit the gradient to get the 2 tone color pattern I want and adjust the number of gradient repeats. That'll give you your sunshine with a single flood fill once the gradient params are set. Takes just a minute or so to do that.

Your screenshot also has sort of a ball of light eminating from the center. You could create a white brush thats large and feather the edges and paint that in the center on another layer and blend it. You can also use the sunburst effect in the lighting filters to get that ball.

Check Distort/Polar Coordinates filter in Photoshop. You will get the rest by yourself... ;)
