Macintosh Question

I recently picked up a Macintosh box from someone, and tried hooking it up to a spare monitor to see if it was working properly, the monitor is an Acer and works, and the OS never displayed, nor anything else. Do Macintosh computers run off a pc monitor? The monitor connector did is for a pc, and did fit the port.:confused:

In most cases they work fine with PC monitors. I've rarely found one that didn't. However, if you give us a little more information we might be able to troubleshoot it better.

What model of Mac is it? Do you know the OS version? Model number of the monitor might also help.
