Hi,

My name is Lorien Faulkner, and I'm the executive editor at PTD Magazine. PTD (at http://ptdmagazine.com) is an independently published print magazine distributed in the US.

We've recently included a pack-in DVD to our print subscribers, and I wanted to officially invite indie developers and publishers to drop me a line. We're looking to include demos and shareware on the DVD, and would be most delighted to help bolster the indie community with a little free publicity.

If you have a demo, shareware or even promotional video for your indie game, drop me a line at loriencfau@empireconsolidated.com and we can make sure your binary makes it on our next disk.

Thanks a million!

And yes, I am ashamed of my newbie status. Please don't beat me!

What size subscribership do you have? Do you have any interest in freeware games?

Our electronic distribution averages around 2K. We've just started the print subscriptions, and are actively selling the magazine to retail outlets this quarter. Currently, we have less than a thousand print subscribers, although the feedback we've received has been outstanding.

We'd be happy to include freeware games on the pack-in. Drop me a line and we'll hash out all the details.

Thanks!

Wow! The response for our pack-in DVD has been astounding. We'll be processing everyones request in the next two days, and you'll hear back from us once your title(s) have made it on the master disc.

Issue 304 will ship on Wednesday, with 305 promptly behind it two weeks later. Feel free to send us any new work, as we'll be updating the disk monthly.

@loriencfau: If you want games news (and basically demos/trial versions etc.), subscribe to Game release press list (http://www.gamerelease.net/). There's both email subscription and RSS feed available (so pick the one you prefer). Should help you getting some information from indies.

I can also throw a line about your offer at GameProducer.net (http://www.gameproducer.net) - this sounded interesting.

And last but not least... let me make a small update to Highpiled (http://www.highpiled.com) (free physics game) which you can include to... anywhere you want.

We're going to be mastering the DVD today, so expect an email confirmation for your titles in the next 12 hours.

If you missed this disc, feel free to drop us a line regarding next month's disk. We'll be continually adding content.

Thanks again for the enthusiasm, we look forward to working with you all in the future.

We did get it!

We mastered the disc for 303 last Wednesday. Everyone in that batch should have received an email stating that we included your game on that disc. If you didn't, we've queued you up for the 304 disc, which will be mastered next week.

We'll make sure everyone is notified when your binary makes it onto the disc.

Thanks!
