View Full Version : Game Dev Press Releases?

There are a couple of press release distribution services around now, but they're obviously geared towards games rather than game development. Supposing I was the developer of Torque or Ogre or something, is there someone who specializes in the kind of press release those guys would want to send out? I'm also curious about services who write the press release as well as distribute it. I always used to think I could write a pretty decent press release, but I'm assured ( if Joe's reading, yes by you among others :P ) that I really couldn't so perhaps it would be best to let someone else do what they do best.

Well there aren't too many game dev related sites/magazines which are interested in such news for you to just dig them up yourself. As for writing to game devs, I'm sure you can do that better.

Hi,

Yes, the service is still active. At various times, I have been having trouble keeping up with all the emails and PM's, but I didn't think I had any outstanding now. I can only apologize, and I'll go dig out any old PM's and check my emails as well. Again, I'm sorry for not getting back to you, and I'll be in touch later tonight.

It might be targeted more towards applications, but you could check out SoftPressRelease (http://www.softpressrelease.com/) and Al Harberg (http://www.dpdirectory.com/).

SoftPressRelease mentions developer "development-oriented publications", but probably most are components, ActiveX/.NET stuff...
